Owner ~ Artist
I was blessed the day my business was established in 2003 in Asheville NC. I have been in the beauty industry since I was 19 years old. It has been my dream come true, my love and my despair at times but I truly am a lucky woman every day to do what I love. I work with amazing people and help most of my clients feel great about themselves. I admit I cannot make everyone 100% thrilled ever day all day. People are who they are. I am pretty set in my ways as far as business is concerned. I set high standards, have high expectations for behavior and I respect my clients; I expect that in return. So let's say 99% of the time "It's a great day"!!!

Owning salons and spas all my life has given me an advantage to most permanent makeup artists as I have worked one on one helping people feel better about themselves my entire life. Listening and giving feedback is important. Setting boundaries and expectations is important. Using only the best of everything in business is important. These things have always helped my be successful in life, love and career.

When I was a young teenager my mother was diagnosed with a fatal form of cancer which turned me into a caregiver at a young age. I lost her one month before my 18th birthday and it has stuck with me ever since. I can't help but help! I keep a little picture of her in my office and always look to her for guidance, tell her funny stories and know she has her arms around me in all my challenges, victories and difficult decisions.
I was originally trained in Tampa Florida in the permanent makeup industry by a wonderful trainer at Cleopatra's Ink Studio. I have continued my education both in person and online for 23 years! You never know it all. There's always someone creating something new, coming up with amazing ideas and developing new and improved products. I love to learn and take it seriously.
I am certified yearly in bloodborne pathogens training, even though this is not required in NC. I am a licensed tattoo artist by Haywood County Dept of Environmental Health. There is no such thing as a "licensed" permanent makeup artist, we fall into one big basket with tattooing. I have been certified 20 times over by individuals teaching classes over the years but that doesn't mean a lot except you went to a class. I consider my original training to be my main license because it's where it all began. When you are learning all the time, there is always a nugget of information to add to the plan.
I have owned my own permanent makeup businesses in:
Asheville NC
Dillsboro NC
Sylva NC
Clearwater FL
& Kemah Texas
It's amazing the way rules and regulations are so different in different states and counties. Some are good, some not so much. I never had an inspector open a drawer and take out a bottle of pigment to see if it was expired until 5 years ago...that's crazy. Over 23 years in the industry and no one looked at such a simple thing for so long. My current inspectors are really on the ball and keep up well with the ever changing permanent makeup industry.

I am currently training an apprentice, Samantha Shepherd, (Sam) who is working alongside me and is learning not just the art of permanent makeup but also the business side. We love working together and will be side by side until the day comes that she is a shadow of me. This is our goal. I look forward to traveling in the years to come with Samantha to training classes across the country. I will learn right beside her! When I decide to cut back my hours I want her to be able to take up the slack with both you the customer, the business and my sanity!...while I feel confident and stress free to have trained such an amazing woman.

I am married to a wonderful man, Randy Owens who is also self employed, has a huge heart and loves me unconditionally. I am truly blessed. We are both animal lovers. Always up for a new challenge, working together to tackle life's challenges and appreciate God's gifts. We have 3 cats and they definitely keep us hopping. My husband and I love to travel to our condo in Florida, enjoy our beautiful home in the mountains of Franklin NC, spending time with friends and family when we can, and just enjoy our wonderful life together each day.

So it comes down to this. My clients are not just my customers, they are my social life, my family and my confidants... and no, I never meet a stranger. Yep I talk a lot, lol. Come get to know me and I will create beautiful permanent makeup for you to help make your life easier, create "your" unique look, and allow you feel like the best "You" that can be. Whether 18 or 98, there is no age limit to permanent makeup!
Thank you for visiting my website and I look forward to you becoming part of the Asheville Permanent Makeup Family!
